Our Lady of Filerimos
In May 2011 we had our yearly pilgrimage to Assisi for the Feast of Our Lady of Filerimos, a feast which is particularly beloved of the ex-Rhodian Lasalliana Association made up of alumni of the school of the de la Salle Brothers which operated in Rhodes for so many years. Sadly a few days following this, our much loved president, Roberto Gadaletti died suddenly following an accident at his home. O What a great loss to all of us! In September, in Roberto’s memory, we placed an icon of Our Lady of Filerimos in the Church of St. Francis in a ceremony attended not only by parishioners but by several Lasalliana members who had come from Italy for the occasion.
