On Thursday 14th July, Bastille Day, the Honorary Consul of France in Rhodes, Madame Aliki Moschi-Gauguet led a group of French residents in laying a wreath to honour the young French sailors of the French Cruiser “Indien” who died in defence of their country during the First World War when their ship was sunk off Rhodes in 1915. During this quiet and dignified ceremony La Marseillaise was played as Madame Moschi-Gauguet laid the wreath. We would like to thank Madame Moschi-Gauguet and the officials of the French Consulate for the unfailing support which they give to the Catholic Church in Rhodes.
